Our client exists to meet the Nation’s commitment to care for our veteran and defence service community—the men and women who have served Australia in times of war and conflict as well as peacetime. They do this through programs of care, compensation, commemoration, income support and Defence support services. Their aim is to ensure enhanced self-sufficiency, quality of life, financial wellbeing and community recognition for those they support.

This temporary 10-month assignment is for an immediate start.

Your main responsibility will be:

- Be the first point of contact in providing support to clients and providers
- Arranging long distance travel
- Processing reimbursement of travel expenses
- Booking car hire
- Answering telephone queries from contracted health providers and the veteran community
- Processing requests for treatment and exercising delegations where appropriate
- Preparing routine correspondence and articulate written determination letters that are clear to ensure clarity of decisions
- Capturing and recording data
- Checking veteran eligibility for reimbursements

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

- Demonstrate effective use of digital technology and an understanding of digital environment
- Excellent written communication skills coupled with a high degree of attention to detail
- Experience conducting situation evaluation and analysis
- An understanding of veteran affairs in Australia is highly desirable
