- BH-26532Position Title: Training Coordinator and Planning Officer

Location: Southwest Sydney

The Role:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the National Training Manager to develop and maintain individual training plans for new and existing employees, including Trainees.
- Implement and roster a 6 to 24-month rolling Training program for Trainees and existing Train Crew based on individual training plans.
- Work closely with the Rail Rostering team to ensure that rostered training aligns with operational demands.
- Ensure compliance with training obligations by scheduling Trainees to attend training as per their individual plans.
- Manage end-to-end training delivery, ensuring all training is delivered as per the training plan and roster.
- Roster training delivery for over 20 Driver Trainers located across the Rail business.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with a dispersed team of Driver Trainers.
- Collaborate with partnering Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver other required training.
- Support any ad hoc requirements from the broader Safety team for Rail

Skills Essential to the Position:

- Highly skilled in rostering and long-term planning in an operational context.
- Awareness of the VET ( Vocational and Educational Training) sector, Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and RTO standards (desirable).
- Experience with a Learning Management System ( LMS) like aXcelerate (preferable).
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proactive initiative and problem-solving abilities.
- Analytical mindset and sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications Required:

- Previous experience in a Registered Training Organisation is desirable.
- Rail Operations background is preferable.

The role is effectively pulling together, coordinating and managing the training schedule for all the drivers in NSWE, working to ensure deadlines are met, and effective enjoyable training is delivered.
The role is with a small, closely knit team reporting into a dynamic leader. The team works efficiently together, on site in SW Sydney noting that the reach of the role is statewide. Coordinating the delivery of training and assessment activities critical to the operations of this business.
