An exciting opportunity exists for a Specialist Rehabilitation Planner to join the Fortescue Environment, Governance and Communities Division to support the company’s current and future iron-ore mining operations within the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. The role will support our growing business needs and requirements, within our established Closure, Rehabilitation Planning team, based in Perth. The Specialist Rehabilitation Planner will provide technical advice and support to the business in rehabilitation and closure planning, through the identification and management of risks and opportunities as they relate to closure. Fortescue are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, solutions-based, adaptive closure planner who is eager to pursue opportunities through curiosity and proactivity.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop closure and rehabilitation plans and cost estimates according to business needs.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders and scope owners for updates and prioritization of plans and estimates.
- Lead and participate in risk assessments to inform closure planning and approval processes.
- Coordinate project planning for baseline studies, landform design, and closure plans, collaborating with site personnel and contractors.
- Develop criteria for rehabilitation completion and implement monitoring plans aligned with closure objectives.
- Provide guidance on Closure and Rehabilitation Planning to operational teams.
- Coordinate the development of closure and rehabilitation standards and procedures.
- Assist in strategic planning, team planning, and budgeting for closure and rehabilitation projects.
- Update and maintain GIS datasets for closure liability estimates.
- Organize stakeholder consultations with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and the community.
- Conduct site visits to operational sites as necessary.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Significant, demonstratable experience in mine closure and / or environmental restoration.
- Project management and/or contractor management experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge across various technical disciplines including mine planning, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and landform design.
- Familiarity with Arc GIS, Surpac, and/or Deswick is desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Mining Act and Environmental Protection Act.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline related to mine closure and rehabilitation.
