**About us**

The Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) leads innovation in clinical care across NSW. We do this by bringing clinicians, patients and healthcare managers together to design and implement new ways to deliver healthcare.

**What you will be doing**

This role will work across the Emergency Care Institute (ECI) and the Evidence synthesis team, to support the Emergency Protocols Initiating Care (EPIC) program, Emergency Care Institute projects and other projects that require evidence support.

The ECI aims to promote, facilitate and share research and quality improvement activities that improve the way Emergency Care is provided, work with clinicians to produce resources for information and identify and help NSW respond to system challenges experienced by clinicians working in emergency departments.

The Evidence Project Officer will:

- Support an evidence synthesis function that provides timely, valid and relevant information to clinical networks within ACI, the ACI Executive and other stakeholders, by searching and summarising peer reviewed and grey literature
- Support clinical networks in their use of the research evidence base in developing clinical guidance and models of care
- Support a horizon scanning service that provides timely updates to key groups regarding emerging evidence and innovations
- Be aware of relevant data sources and appropriate software needed to ensure ACI's work is rigorous, transparent and evidence-based
- Provide timely and evidence-based briefings and discussion papers
- Work collaboratively with data analysts, graphic designers, researchers, clinical experts and communication experts to produce a range of evidence-based communication products
- Work collaboratively with all ACI Portfolios

The accountabilities of Evidence Project Officer include, but are not limited to the following:

- Provide support for the EPIC program by completing evidence reviews and support referencing to inform the delivery of the program.
- Produce high quality, succinct evidence summaries for the menopause project, Emergency Care Institute clinical guidance reviews and models of care and a number of other priority projects.
- Project management including preparation of project briefs, coordination of tasks and stakeholder consultation.
- Be aware of protocols according to industry best practice to ensure accuracy of syntheses, data extraction, reference management and evidence grading.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Support staff and provide advice on critical appraisal and evidence synthesis and undertake the preparation of various documents including analytical reports, briefing papers, discussion papers, presentations reports, research papers, submissions, related correspondence and responses.

**Remuneration**: $119,348.00 - $136,057.00 per annum (excluding Superannuation)

**Selection Criteria / Questions**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent; and experience in searching bibliographic databases, using reference management software, and producing accurate and succinct evidence summaries.
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking literature searches using multiple databases to inform decision making in health service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience to undertake thorough and rigorous critical appraisal and synthesis of research evidence.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in project management and ability to participate in multiple projects and activities requiring high quality outcomes and deliverables
