**This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.**

Be an integral part of our Allied Health multidisciplinary team working across Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic **Allied Health Assistant** to join our dynamic Community Allied Health team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary community-based allied health team that delivers high-quality care and support to a diverse range of clients.

- You are highly organised and prioritise workload within a healthcare environment.
- You are able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions to achieve health goals.
- You have highly developed communication skills and can liaise with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

**What you'll be doing**

The Allied Health Assistant role is part of Allied Health multidisciplinary teams across CCLHD- including inpatient and community settings, and is required to deliver assistance and support to all allied health disciplines. This may include (but not limited to) ward based duties, centre based group programs, home based programs and various non-clinical tasks as delegated. The clinical caseload may include acute or post-acute stroke, chronic respiratory, cardiac disease, diabetes, progressive neurological disease, frail aged and their carers.

The Allied Health Assistant provides direct clinical intervention, under the direct supervision and guidance from Allied Health professionals, along with assisting group programs, administrative duties and resource development.
