**Position Information**:
Sylvania Public School has an enrolment of 170 students, including 1% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 39% with a language background other than English. SPS is committed to providing quality teaching and learning in an environment that fosters respectful and successful learners, along with confident and creative individuals who are responsible, informed global citizens. **Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria:

- Approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teachers to work collaboratively in line with the school strategic directions whilst balancing the dual roles of being an exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of a leadership role.
- Demonstrated capacity to consistently and effectively lead the implementation of the new syllabus reforms by engaging in current research and implementing data informed practices to improve student achievement outcomes.
- An approachable, highly visible and collaborative leader who promotes a culture of respect to enhance student wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion.
- Evidence of an inspirational leadership style, with the capacity to build a culture of high expectations and trust, while developing authentic relationships and contributing positively to the diverse small school environment and wider community.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
