**About the Role**

This position will be responsible for assisting the Coordinator Workplace Systems to develop, implement, monitor and review WHS related systems and processes used at Council. You will champion safety across Council with a focus on reducing risks and injuries and increasing the awareness and importance of WHS throughout the organisation.

**Essential Criteria**
- ** **Certificate IV in WHS and/or relevant experience in a WHS field
- Demonstrated experience in WHS monitoring in an outdoor and/or mechanical trade environment
- The ability to develop reports, policies and/or procedures of sufficient quality for consideration by Executive level management
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment
- Demonstrated intermediate level of experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and inhouse data bases
- Current NSW Drivers Licence (Class C)

**Desirable Criteria**
- ** **Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- Auditor Training
- Local Government experience
