**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
The **Activities and Experience Branch** is responsible for providing individual services for participants in Workforce Australia, such as Employability Skills Training, Career Transition Assistance, Work for the Dole, Work Experience programs. This service also includes job related advice and the overall user experience of Workforce Australia Online.

The **Work for Dole and Work Experience team** contributes to positive employment outcomes for Australians and provides the practical assistance individuals need to increase their confidence and skills in order to move into work. The team is responsible for the development of operational policy and program management advice to ensure the consistent delivery of Work for the Dole, Voluntary Work, and Observational Work Experience.

There is currently one position available, however this process may be used to establish a merit list.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Operational duties at the APS Level 5 include:

- Provide sound program management and operational policy advice
- Maintain key stakeholder relationships to effectively respond to their needs
- Contribute to high quality written advice, including executive briefings, program guideline materials, ministerial correspondence and responses to other formal queries
- Analyse program data to identify risks, opportunities and trends and develop conclusions based on evidence
- Support risk management and program assurance activities
- Other program management duties as directed.
