About The Role

Reporting to the Manager Environment, the key purpose of the role is to manage the approvals for South Australia. This will include but not limited to planning and scheduling approvals for South Australia obtaining and managing resources required to deliver planned approvals and providing oversight and support as required to all approvals within the state.

The role will also manage technical studies and government approvals processes for identified projects. This includes defining approvals processes and schedules, identifying, scoping and managing required baseline and other environmental studies, and evaluation of environmental impacts and development of mitigating strategies.

Approvals may relate to exploration works, baseline studies for proposed new operations, operational expansion projects, closure planning or site closure and relinquishment. The role requires working proactively and effectively with operating sites and project teams, developing working relationships with government officials, and production of high-quality approvals documentation and management plans.

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Strong experience working in a similar role.- High standards of behaviour that align with Iluka’s values of Commitment, Integrity and Responsibility.- Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent.- Thorough understanding of principles of environmental impact assessment and environmental management.- Broad understanding of mining and minerals processing and relevant environmental matters relating to these practices.- Excellent knowledge of and experience with relevant State and Federal Government environmental and planning legislation and regulatory processes.- Extensive experience in the development and submission of environmental approvals documentation to regulatory agencies.- Ability to lead teams.- Demonstrated ability to manage time, budget and quality of deliverables.- Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, GIS, PowerPoint).- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
