**Environmental Advisor**:

- Date: 16 Nov 2023- Location: Adelaide, SA, AU, 5001- Company: VentiaWe have an opportunity for an experienced and intuitive **Environmental Advisor** to join the Ventia team as part of the Defence and Social Infrastructure contract.

**This is a site-based role located in Adelaide (Office Location - RAAF Base Edinburgh) with the ability to work flexible hours**. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will provide technical environmental expertise and oversee the Environmental management, compliance and best practice working together with the broader SHEQ team and working with operational personnel by supporting our Defence contract with regards to all environment matters. You will be involved in impactful sustainable projects, such as circular economy and water minimisation and also supporting and educating the operations team, to enable Ventia to meet their Environmental targets.

This is a **Fixed term** opportunity until 31 July 2024 with a possibility of an extension.

**What you will be doing**:

- Provide support to our operations in managing environmental risks and compliance obligations and environmental approvals and undertake environmental assessments based on proposed operational works
- Assist with implementation and monitoring of environmental strategies and action plans to achieve the environmental and sustainability objectives
- Assist in the identification and reporting of environmental risks and facilitate the achievement of environmental best practice and risk minimisation
- Assist with implementation, monitoring and continual improvements with regards to the Environmental Management System
- Assist with the development and roll-out of environmental awareness programs and ensure the content is delivered effectively
- Ensure environmental incident reporting is in line with legislation and contractual requirements
- Assist in environmental incident investigations as appropriate including the review of incident reports
- Conduct environmental monitoring, inspections and auditing as required and provide feedback on environmental performance, issues and resolutions
- Assist with environmental & sustainability reporting as required

**About you**:

- Previous proven experience as an environmental advisor or a similar role
- Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Science/ Management/ Engineering/Sustainability or similar field (Essential)
- Sound knowledge of relevant environmental Standards, legislation and regulatory requirements and on construction activities and associated environmental risks
- Proficiency in environmental management system implementation including developing contract specific processes
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability in influencing outcomes across various stakeholders

**_Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen_**_._
