Central Specimen Reception Supervisor

We are seeking a permanent full-time CA4 Central Specimen Reception Supervisor to join our team at Pathology Queensland Department of Health. This role is responsible for the day to day operation of the Central Specimen Reception service in Logan Hospital's Pathology Queensland laboratory. Duties performed include all aspects of specimen reception and pre-analytical specimen processing, staff management (rostering, payroll, recruitment and training), consumables purchasing, client support and other duties associated with operating the CSR service. Located in Logan/Meadowbrook the successful applicant will also ensure a robust, vibrant, high-quality and efficient Central Specimen Reception service is provided. Pathology Queensland (PQ) provides diagnostic pathology services to all Hospital and Health Services (HHS) across metro, regional and remote Queensland, offering laboratory services in the disciplines of: anatomical pathology, chemical pathology, haematology, immunology, microbiology and genomics. PQ also provides an invaluable service to Queenslanders by supporting a coordinated response to incidents and disasters.
**What we are looking for**:

- Supportive, adaptable and successful training of Central Specimen Reception staff.
- A thorough working knowledge and demonstrated competence in all aspects of diagnostic pathology pre-analytical specimen processing.
- An ability to supervise and coordinate a Central Specimen Reception service with a commitment to both personal and organisational excellence.
- An ability to effectively use corporate software systems such as a Laboratory Information System (eg Auslab), an electronic medical record system, a purchasing system (eg S/4HANA), a payroll system, a Quality Information System, Outlook, Microsoft Office, etc.
**Qualifications and other requirements**:
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification such as Certificate III or IV in laboratory skills or equivalent would be well regarded.
- It is a condition of employment for this role, for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 as per the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
- It /is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, tuberculosis.
