The Position

As a Disabilities Services Officer, you will be providing support to both adults and children with various medical conditions including dementia and ADHD. Your role will focus on providing assistance, personal care, and companionship to improve the well-being of our clients while also supporting their families.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver personalised support to individuals (adults and children) with disabilities.
- Assist with daily activities, including meal preparation, personal care, feeding, and social engagement, ensuring support is tailored to individual needs.
- Transport clients to appointments, outings, and activities safely using your own vehicle.
- Support families by providing education and care for children and individuals with disabilities in various settings.
- Assess clients’ needs and develop tailored educational, training, and support programs.
- Conduct interviews with clients to understand their specific challenges.
- Monitor and report on clients’ progress regularly.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and empathy in interactions with clients, their families, and team members.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while providing care and support services.

The Person

We seek highly motivated and skilled team players to join our supportive and inclusive team. Ideally, you will have at least 3 years of experience in providing support to adults and children with disabilities.

Selection Criteria

Common key skills and experience required for this position is:

- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- Qualification in Aged Care, Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services (preferred)
- At least three years of relevant experience supporting adults and children with disabilities
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Valid driver's license
- Access to a reliable vehicle for transportation
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
