Why this role matters

The Safe House provides residential and outreach case management to men, women, young people and families living in the community who have experienced trafficking & modern slavery, including forced marriage. The Safe House works within a person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed care framework to ensure the best outcome for all who seek our assistance.

About the role

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Manager to work with survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in an accommodation service setting.

You will successfully
- Offer appropriate and high-quality support to individuals identified to have experienced human trafficking, slavery and/or slavery-like practices, through a client-centred and trauma informed case management framework
- Effectively manage case load as allocated by the Program Manager
- Complete assessment, intake and case planning, providing comprehensive case management and referrals to relevant services to ensure holistic support
- Operate as part of an integrated network and work in a collaborative way with other Salvation Army programs and external partners and service providers
- Attend relevant network and inter-agency meetings, represent the organisation in specific working groups and shared projects
- Promote and support clients’ self-advocacy and contribute to policy advocacy, research, community education and outreach
- On Call Duties

You will have:

- Tertiary qualifications (min. Diploma) in Community Services, Social Work or related disciplines
- Experience in Trauma Informed Care and Strengths Based Practice
- Experience working with people who have experienced human trafficking, forced labour, slavery; and/or migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Solid level of experience in complex case management role
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the community services sector
- Ability to work on a rotating on-call roster (one week per month), shared between the team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including advocacy and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to best practice, professional development and continuous improvement
- A positive attitude, flexible approach and a team player
- A current and valid NSW Drivers Licence
- Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia

Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a Full time, permanent position, based at a confidential address in metropolitan Sydney. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award level 5
