**About the Role**

This position will make an outstanding contribution to the Academic Unit’s teaching of undergraduate and honours programs, with a primary focus on the Human Movement, Exercise and Sports Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology disciplines.

The UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance Academic Unit offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, health sciences, public health, exercise and sport science, and human movement.

UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance is home to the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity (ARENA), a recognised research centre which investigates the role of exercise, nutrition and other lifestyle activities in improving clinical and health outcome and Innovation, Implementation & Clinical Translation in Health (IIMPACT), a research concentration which focuses on persistent pain and breathlessness, rural health and stroke recovery.

**Core Responsibilities**

LEVEL A

Educational Development and Practice
- Contribute to the development and delivery of courses (as appropriate) and work with the team in the development of program change and innovation including flexible and online delivery
- Maintain and strive to improve the quality of courses as measured with a variety of evaluation instruments.
- Develop a network of contacts to support and contribute to the development and delivery of courses
- Provide academic counselling and high-quality service and advice to students
- Work collaboratively with staff in other Academic Units and other stakeholders to ensure course content and quality reflects contemporary professional practice
- Work with administrative staff in the efficient administrative operation of the course
- Supervise honours students

Management and Administration
- Undertake course coordination (as required)
- Contribute to program planning and evaluation
- Actively participate in Academic Unit and discipline committees/groups
- Promote the Academic Unit and University to the wider community

Research and Scholarship
- Facilitate the connections between research and teaching and vice versa
- Undertake developmental activities to advance knowledge of effective discipline-specific pedagogical practices
- Develop scholarly expertise relevant to the discipline and participate in teacher development programs relevant to the role

Engaging the Community and Industry
- Actively contribute to Academic Unit and University activities, particularly in relation to planning and administration
- Create, foster and enhance local, national and international links with relevant professional, university and community bodies that assist in the advancement of University and Academic Unit objectives
- Participate, on behalf of the Academic Unit, in appropriate consultancies, short courses and related professional activities

LEVEL B

Educational Development and Practice
- Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, online or via other appropriate methods. This includes:

- Maintaining the quality of the courses through course review and development (i.e. course materials and teaching methods) to meet industry/ organisational needs, educational requirements and quality standards
- Coordinating the timely delivery of courses including preparing and delivering lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials, facilitating online learning, assessment development and marking
- Providing academic counselling and high-quality advice to students in a professional and timely manner
- Developing a network of contacts to support and contribute to the delivery and development of the course
