Corps is a community-focused church, partnering with the wider community to help transform one life at a time with the love of Jesus. This is achieved through Sunday Worship Services, Community Support and Emergency Relief, Thrift Shop engagement, and small groups.

About the role

We are seeking a values driven Community Engagement Worker who will oversee and coordinate all current and new engagement opportunities between the Corps, other Salvation Army mission expressions, and the community in line with The Salvation Army (TSA) Mission. Assist the Corps in its overall mission strategy to connect and engage the community, building support for the achievement of The Salvation Army’s Mission.

You will successfully
- Be responsible for existing community ministries and activities, including but not limited to: Sal Connect; School serve; and community lunches (Open Table)
- Oversee and coordinate Salvos Connect activities, including assisting community members with welfare resources and community donations.
- Facilitate access for community members to other Salvation Army mission expressions including Doorways, Moneycare, Housing, Family Violence, PLP and linking to corps programs and activities
- Relationship building and development of community support and partnerships to ensure quality service delivery, and coordinating meetings as needed
- Develop relationships and foster partnerships and collaboration with other Salvation Army mission expressions and other local external community service agencies
- Engage and connect with all persons coming for help and support with the intention of connecting them to each other and our mission

This is a casual position, located in Noosaville, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services award.

You will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services/Social Work - minimum certificate level, or relevant experience.
- Experience in community engagement on behalf of a religious institution or not-for-profit organization.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and running community-based activities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate with community partners and community members.
- Current WWCC - Blue Card
- A Current Driver's licence
