**About the role**
Reporting to the Principal Solicitor - Litigation, the Solicitor is a member of the team which is primarily responsible for leading civil litigation matters at the EPA, as well as supporting legal reviews of regulatory activity such as permissions and notices, and corporate legal affairs. Under the direction of a Principal Solicitor, you will be responsible for advising, initiating, or responding to Victorian Civil Administration Tribunal (‘VCAT') and Supreme Court litigation and preparing and implementing management strategies for legal proceedings, including appearing on behalf of EPA and preparing and instructing external solicitors and/or counsel in a range of litigation matters.
This position requires agility to undertake broader legal work as EPA's demands and priorities require. You will use your initiative to prioritise workflow in providing legal services and advice, aligned with EPA's strategic priorities to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.
