Our Melbourne Large Corporates team serves both public and private companies and covers some of Australia’s largest and most iconic names. As an Associate, you will partner with a relationship Director to drive account management strategies targeted at delivering outstanding client service, executing large transactions, effecting global product mandates, and maintaining responsibility for day-to-day portfolio activities.

Putting your credit analysis and financial modelling skills to good use, this is a rare opportunity in the Melbourne market to have exposure to a variety of highly complex banking solutions across a diverse range of industries. You will be joining our Australian Large Corporates team at an exciting time of growth, in an international banking environment. This role would best suit an individual passionate about a career in commercial banking, keen to develop into a relationship Director over time.

**_Your main responsibilities will include assisting the relationship Director to:_**
- Engaging with multiple touchpoints within both our existing and target clients to build and maintain strong relationships, identify client needs, and position the Bank’s solutions accordingly.
- Developing and maintaining an understanding of our clients’ industries and associated markets, including both local and global dynamics.
- Working in with a range of global product specialists including, among others, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged and Syndicated Finance, Global Markets, Trade & Receivables Finance, Liquidity & Cash Management, and Private Banking.
- Ensuring strong adherence to credit policies (including ongoing monitoring of clients), financial crime compliance and regulatory compliance.
- Providing support with instructing, negotiating and executing client facility documentation requirements, working in with internal and external legal counsel as required.
- Coordinating with the team’s dedicated Portfolio Service Executive to ensure administrative tasks are completed in line with client requirements and internal reporting needs.
Requirements

**_To be successful in this role, you will bring: _**
- Experience in a corporate / institutional finance setting (including credit fund, ratings agency, major accountancy firm, or investment bank), with a fundamental understanding of key corporate banking products including bilateral and syndicated loans, debt capital markets, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external parties.
- Proven capability in writing comprehensive yet concise credit papers, with a high degree of accuracy under transaction deadlines including strength in financial modelling and sensitivity analysis.
- Familiarity with APLMA loan documentation and Australian security structures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels including clients, peers, product specialists, industry specialists and credit risk personnel.
- High levels of self-motivation, commitment and a desire to succeed.
