Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital, Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital and Langmore Centre
You will set the strategic direction of Pastoral services across our South East Melbourne hospitals and provide leadership and coordination to the team in the provision of holistic Pastoral services to patients and clients. You will engage with other hospital/service caregivers to embed and integrate a contemporary model of pastoral care.
The Position- Lead and manage a team in addition to maintaining caseload duties (as determined at hospital/service level in consultation with GMPS),- Accountability for financial stewardship of the pastoral budget.- Responsibility for implementing group strategic direction and workforce planning at a local level.- Accountability for effective and timely service delivery which meets performance indicators, resource management and compliance regarding quality, safety and best practice.- Foster a culture of integrity, professionalism, accountability within the Pastoral Services team in order to maintain the highest standard of Pastoral Practice.- Lead and manage complex strategic initiatives, impart vision, and engage with key internal and external stakeholders.- Lead and manage the Pastoral Services team within the hospital/service and provide strategic vision, direction and advice, to ensure pastoral care is maintained as an essential element of the patient/client model of care- Track and review Pastoral database reports weekly and with team members monthly (minimum) to inform best practice, professional development opportunities, productivity and service development.- Ensure the Pastoral Services team observes the requirements of Catholic identity, particularly with regard to facilitating access to the Sacraments for patients and their families.
You will have completed a tertiary level qualification in a relevant field (such as Social work, Counselling, Pastoral Theology, or Nursing) and demonstrate a minimum 5 years’ experience in the provision of pastoral care to people from a variety of faith, cultural and social backgrounds.

Above all, patient care will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our mission and values.
