Where the team fits in

The Customer Channels tribe is responsible for the primary channels via which we deliver experiences to our customers, this includes Ignite, Partner Platform and Agent Admin. The tribe currently has 4 squads, 2 Ignite squads and 2 Listings squads. Ignite is our strategic channel for customer self service, and the Listings squads manage our strategic b2b customer platform and our core listing processing systems.

Delivering customer experiences and listings is a core function of our Australian business, so the Customer Channels tribe works closely with many other teams across REA to support the delivery of a diverse range of products.

This role will be focused on supporting the Ignite Platform, most specifically the Web side of the experience. For a little bit more context, the Ignite Platform is positioned to be the tool of choice for all customers that utilise REA to support their business. Ignite is available to our customers across both web and apps which is underpinned by a backend that integrates with many core systems across our business.

The Web Team is a platform team that has lots of dependencies and friends throughout the business. It operates under a federated model supporting all our lines of business (LOB) to enable and deliver upon our key customer strategy. This means the team get to work, learn, share challenges, and celebrate success alongside many people and teams across all parts of the organisations. Although the team is a platform team at heart, and key to enabling other teams to deliver great experiences, we also get involved with our own feature development that further enhanced the ever-growing Ignite Web Platform.

What the role is all about

As a Delivery Lead, you will form one part of a three-pronged leadership team for the Ignite Web Squad and join the leadership group of the Ignite Tribe. You will be tasked with the responsibility of maintaining the operating rhythm of the Web squad, the delivery performance, the squad health and overall squad sentiment.

Other key components on the role include:

- Line management responsibility for up to 6 REA team members (across Sydney and Melbourne), who will require you to mentor them, identify skill gaps, establish development plans and conduct performance reviews.
- Positively contribute to the culture of your team, build engagement and morale, be involved in recruiting, set structure and processes and build and maintain a high performing team.
- Contribute to the Ignite Tribe leadership team, where you will be jointly accountable for its health, happiness and performance.
- Drive the co-ordinate of cross-company initiatives led out of the Ignite Web Squad.
- Facilitate and drive the end to end delivery of initiatives across cross-functional and distributed agile teams (‘squads’).
- Take the lead at the inception phase to ensure that initiatives are scoped, planned and resourced appropriately.
- Work closely with our Product team to facilitate scope and priority conversations.
- Be responsible for the day to day operations of the team, balancing platform health and custodianship with the delivery of new features.
- Keep senior stakeholders informed and engaged, manage risks and issues and coordinate releases.
- Manage external and internal delivery dependencies.
- Manage the squad monthly financial reporting.
- Incident coordination and communication.
- Provide advice and thought leadership to ensure successful design and implementation of technology strategies that align with LoB and wider REA Strategies.
- Work with our Tech Leads and Architects to assess new technologies and ensure our technology decisions align to REA best practice and can be operationalised.
- Manage and ensure an appropriate level of system health.
