**The Opportunity**

The Health Services Risk and Assurance team have an opening for a 12-month parental leave contract as **Head of Risk and Assurance, Government Contracts**. In this role, you’ll be accountable for leading the activities that support the effective implementation of the Bupa Risk Management Framework and related policies and governance activities, together with the Quality and Safety Systems Framework including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certification.

The Head of Risk and Assurance will form part of the first line of defence, undertaking field work supporting: risk, control and quality assessments; control and quality improvement initiatives; deployment of risk frameworks; undertaking incident root cause analysis and response; supporting issue management processes; delivering insights and analytics and implementing the risk appetite framework. This role will lead the operation of risk and governance forums within the Bupa Medical Visa Service (BMVS) and Australian Defence Force Health Services (ADFHS) divisions.
- This 12-month parental leave contract will be based at our Melbourne offices. (Bupa offers hybrid working arrangements and you can work from the office or from home). This role is a Security Cleared Position requiring the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizenship and be eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance._

**What do I need?**

As a senior risk leader, you’ll bring extensive experience and knowledge in risk management or quality management with exposure to a large, complex setting within health care, insurance or similar financial services.

You’ll bring advanced report writing skills and champion attention to detail with your team. You excel in prioritising and managing deliverables effortlessly, alongside adeptly handling stakeholder communication to attain successful outcomes through consultation and collaboration.

**In addition, you’ll bring to the role**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk management or related discipline
- Ability to obtain a baseline security clearance (i.e., Australian citizen)
- Strategic and operational thinking to understand current and desired risk management states that will drive continuous customer centric and digital improvements, sound management of risk and controls, and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of Quality and Safety Systems Framework including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certification.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with proven ability to engage, coach and drive performance.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written reporting skills to communicate risk concepts and deliver meaningful information to senior leadership teams.
