**The Opportunity**

Lithgow City Council are seeking an enthusiastic **Jet Patcher Team Leader** with a "can do" attitude to join their Rural Works team in Lithgow, NSW.

The position is responsible for operating the Jet Patcher and managing a small team to patch urban streets and use a variety of other small to medium sized plant and equipment to assist in the safe and efficient construction and maintenance of Council's civil infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the provision of key community services in an area known for its heritage endowments, natural beauty and community spirit.

This role provides exceptional opportunities to manage a small team and encompasses a varied and interesting range of duties and responsibilities. You will help us set a positive workplace culture, where we prioritise the delivery of exceptional outcomes, in a safe and fun environment.

The key tasks for this position include;
- Carry out efficient and cost-effective operations for maintenance and construction of both urban and rural roads
- Operate Council’s Jet Patcher to a safe standard, undertake regular maintenance and cleaning
- Carry out and complete construction and maintenance works on bitumen, sealed surfaces and pavements across Council’s road networks
- Carry out emulsion sealing in a safe and competent manner
- Carry out routine inspections on local roads

**About You**

We are looking for a motivated individual who meets the selection criteria, including but not limited to;
- Demonstrated general knowledge of road construction and maintenance
- Demonstrated practical experience in safe and efficient plant operation
- Demonstrated well-developed organisational skills to manage competing priorities and project reporting
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively
- Hold a current class HR drivers licence and NSW WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard)
- Work Zone Traffic Control - Traffic Controller Skill - Blue Card
- Work Zone Traffic Control - Implement Traffic Control Guidance Plan Skill Set - Yellow Card
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Previous National Competency Licences or qualified assessment for Roller, Backhoe, Skid Steer & Front End Loader
- Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations)
