What does the job look like?

Join us as a Centralised Planning Manager, where you'll spearhead planning and rostering activities, ensuring a nuanced balance between service goals and cost efficiency. Your role involves optimising resources for the seamless execution by the Operations Team and strategically coordinating efforts to attain precise service and cost objectives. With a direct line of reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, your impact will be instrumental in aligning planning initiatives with overarching operational goals, enhancing our capabilities, and steering the network towards success. Key areas:

- Oversee route planning and ensure timely availability, optimise fleet utilisation, and minimise unproductive time.
- Manage rosters, leave schedules, and the casual driver pool to ensure adequate resources for on-time delivery targets.
- Lead the development and execution of operational plans, collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) and cost targets.
- Ensure accuracy in distance matrices for Primary Connect through regular audits and address additional mileage requirements for cost recovery.
- Provide leadership in short, medium, and long-term labour planning, explore staffing competencies, and drive internal continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage relationships with labour hire vendors, optimise industrial agreements, and ensure delivery to contractual expectations, including KPIs, customer reporting, and continuous improvement programs.

As a logistics leader, you excel in optimising operations and navigating fast-paced environments with a focus on customer priorities and commercial impacts. You can demonstrate:

- Proven experience in leadership roles within the logistics industry, demonstrating effective team management and achievement of goals.
- Background in planning, coordination, and analytical roles, showcasing the ability to optimise operational processes.
- Proficient in understanding and balancing major customer priorities while recognising the commercial impacts of operational decisions.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly self-motivated with strong attention to detail, efficiently meeting high standards and deadlines with mínimal supervision. Proven experience in performance reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
