The Higher Courts are seeking a motivated and capable individual to fulfil the role of Trial Allocations Officer for the Supreme Court and District Court of South Australia.
Located in Adelaide CBD, the position plays a crucial role in the administration of justice and is responsible for the listing and coordination of criminal trials in South Australia.
The role has a high level of accountability and provides daily challenges in an exciting dynamic team environment.

**What you’ll do**:

- Collaborate with the Deputy Registrar and judiciary in the management of criminal trial hearings.
- Attend as in-court support for court hearings including capturing outcomes of hearings.
- Manage the Higher Courts criminal trial diary for the state of South Australia.
- Manage court resources by prioritising and allocating criminal cases to judges for hearing.
- Have daily contact with the judiciary and members of the legal profession.
- Produce and maintain statistical reports related to criminal trial outcomes.
- Triage incoming correspondence for criminal trial matters to determine the action.
- Supervise, support and develop members within the Listings & Outcomes team.

- Be proficient in a variety of IT software and hardware, in a dynamic environment.
- Possess well developed communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely and to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Have the proven ability to effectively build positive relationships with team members and work effectively as part of a team, and take direction from leaders.
- Possess natural leadership and the ability to effectively manage, supervise, support and develop others in the team. Possess high level attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.**Special Conditions**:

- This is a long term contract for up to 12 months, with the possibility of being extended beyond this.
- Appointment is under the _Courts Administration Act 1993_. Terms and conditions of employment are governed by the _Public Sector Act 2009_.
- As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
- Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
- This role is identified as a Prescribed Position and the successful applicant is required to obtain a Working with Children Check prior to employment with the CAA, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
- Appointees will be required to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status.
