**About being a Part Time Tram Driver**

We are looking for people who are passionate about providing a service. Being a Tram Driver will provide you with exceptional job security with a highly competitive salary and generous benefits. Many of our drivers have been with us for decades. You will be working for an iconic Melbourne brand that is loved worldwide and you’ll always have an interesting story to tell your friends. You will have the opportunity to be connected to Melbourne’s tourist attractions and welcoming visitors from all over the world.

As part of our commitment to you Yarra Trams will provide you with comprehensive training and continuous support from managers and colleagues. You’ll join a diverse and welcoming organisation that invests in its people and provides career growth opportunities, and professional development. Many of our team leaders and depot managers started their careers at Yarra Trams as drivers.

Our Part Time Tram Driving Roster includes a minimum of 23 hours rostered per week across 5 days, each shift is 4.5 hours long. Your shifts would only be rostered between the hours of 6:30 AM and 7:30 PM so there are no late finishes as part of this roster.

**What **makes a good Tram Driver?**

If you are passionate about providing a service and love your city you are already on the right track Of course a commitment to safety and focus on zero harm is crucially important, this includes a proven record of safe driving on the road. You will be able to multi-task whilst maintaining concentration over a period of time. It's important you have a commitment to provide exceptional customer service, thinking of our passengers as part of your family. Lastly you will have a positive outlook and an ability to cope with pressure and be resilient.

**What do you need to become a Part Time Tram Driver?**

To be a Tram Driver you need to be prepared to be part of a workplace that is based on respect, promotes diversity and encourages inclusiveness. It's important that you are medically fit to perform the functions of a Tram Driver. This includes basic mobility, hearing, and other health checks. You will be provided with the support required to complete a comprehensive **full time** 6-10 week training program and a 6 month probation period. You will be paid during this training period and much of the training is ‘on-the-job’ driving trams on the network with an instructor.
