The Salvation Army Golden Grove located in Wynn Vale offers a place of worship, programs and services for the community including preschool programs and training opportunities and a vibrant Op Shop and Cafe.

We believe a well-cared for environment also brings dignity and value to everyone’s shared experience of The Salvation Army - Golden Grove ,Cleaning Team Members are therefore highly valued and important part of the overall team.

Lifting and repetitive physical work such as vacuuming large spaces is a requirement of this role and it can be physically demanding at times.

Key responsibilities:

- Bring your ‘pride of place’ and attention to detail to general cleaning activities, providing a welcoming experience for clients, visitors and co-workers.
- Using well-honed organisational skills, re-stock cleaning supplies and consumables.
- Manage rubbish removal by emptying bins and ensuring recycling is ready for collection.
- Maintain a routine for more occasional ‘deeper cleaning’ tasks, instructing co-workers on how to prepare and assist with access (eg remove items from desks, floor area or windows).

We are looking for volunteers available at 5 - 6 hours a week over 2 days on a Monday afternoon and a Thursday afternoon or Friday - this is to clean the entire buildings (vacuum/mop/toilets).

Development opportunities with this role:
This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in cleaning and appropriate use of cleaning products, along with working alongside a team to create an aesthetically pleasing environment. More broadly, volunteers in this role will have access to further training opportunities and exposure to the workings of a large not-for-profit organisation.
