QBuild is a vital part of Queensland's $50 billion building and construction industry which employs 235,000 Queenslanders*.

As the Queensland Government's builder, QBuild plays an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

With almost 1,500 staff and a network that includes 20 offices and 34 depots across the state, QBuild is well positioned to deliver construction and maintenance services to communities including those in regional and remote areas.

**The key responsibilities of the position include**:

- Develop apprentice initiatives and programs and the relevant processes, procedures to enable continuous improvement of the overall program.
- Provide authoritative advice and support services to management and staff across a full range of apprentice related matters, including:

- Industry reform initiatives relating to apprentices;
- induction and onboarding;
- training and development for supervisors and apprentices;
- procedures and processes relating to apprentices;
- career and succession planning;
- performance management and development.
- Act as the local point of contact for the resolution of apprentice issues and employee entitlement queries, including liaising with Managers and Human Resources as necessary.
- Provide accurate and timely data analysis and management reports as required.
- Undertake projects and investigations into apprentice workplace issues, including research and preparation of associated reports, submissions and correspondence.
- Support operational areas in developing, implementing, administering and reviewing strategic human resource management and organisational frameworks as they relate to apprentices.
- Participate as a member of industrial committees, working parties and management teams to support operational needs and the development of apprentice training opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with external bodies and organisations such as the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, Registered Training Organisations, Australian Apprenticeship Support Network Providers and other industry bodies to ensure the ongoing success of the apprenticeship program.
- Prepare high level written correspondence including submissions, briefing notes, ministerial responses and information papers relating to apprentice training and employment
