An exciting opportunity exists for a **Clinical Midwifery Consultant Grade 2 **to join **Maternity Services Department** at **Wollongong Hospital.**

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

**What you'll be doing**

The Clinical Midwifery Consultant provides expert clinical advice to patients/clients, carers and other health care professionals with complex healthcare needs within maternity services.
The Clinical Midwifery Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership.
The Clinical Midwifery Consultant will establish a consistent and coordinated approach to risk management within Maternity Services in accordance with PD 2009_003. The Clinical Midwifery Consultant models the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment) values of the organisation.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Registered midwife with a current licence to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and current NSW Driver’s License (if required by service).
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
