We are in the market for an experienced and qualified professional as team lead for drainage construction, you are passionate about your profession and enjoy the rewards of a good challenge. As a team lead you have to lead and manage drainage maintenance/construction crew and will play an important role for delivery of capital works and maintenance programs. Reporting to works Supervisor, you will plan and manage resources, plant & equipment required for safe and successful delivery of storm water drainage works.

**What can you bring to the team?**
- Implement and undertake designated storm water drainage construction and maintenance programs in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner and to agreed quality standards.
- Efficient and effective management and control of the City’s road and drainage construction and maintenance and maintaining a high level of customer service to assist ratepayers, residents and the wider community.
- Work effectively within the team to assist and complement the activities of the team as a whole, including provide technical support and suggestions which contribute to the objectives of the Section.
- Guiding the work of a small team and providing on the job training, contributing to a continuing improvement in labour performance and safety.
- Providing leadership to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained.
- Ensuring the proper operation and security of materials, plant and equipment.
- Maintaining a high level of customer service

**To be successful you will have**:

- Two years of pipe laying, gully construction and operation of pumps experience on a drainage construction site
- Previous experience supervising employees and conducting practical staff training
- Thorough knowledge of drainage, road construction and maintenance techniques, methods and quality control procedures
- Understanding and interpreting drawings/plans and implementing construction as per design
- Good knowledge of the safe operation, working practices and user maintenance of plant and equipment in a general construction environment.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles and practices of Occupational Safety & Health and Equal Opportunity.
- Knowledge of materials and equipment estimating, budgetary preparation and control, costing
