About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager - Spatial Integration within our Hunter Class Project, based in Osborne South Australia. Further your engineering management career by leading a multidiscipline team of designers delivering greenfields naval design integration for the Royal Australian Navy's new frigate.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Supervise & co-ordinate the daily activities of the multidiscipline spatial integration team
- Engage with upstream stakeholders to understand completion status, identifying likely risks to spatial integration enablers
- Present spatial integration status and key risks or issues in relevant internal and external design reviews and management forums
- Develop and maintain activity estimates and delivery plans based on past trends and developing risks, communicating and/or negotiating agreed delivery commitments with spatial integration stakeholders
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and reporting including schedule, cost, time and quality of work
- Manage the design and development of spatial integration solutions
- Identify and assess potential risks to spatial integration projects
- Develop and implement mitigation plans for spatial integration risks
About YOU
**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:
- An Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Extensive experience within a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical/piping/hydraulics, structural, electrical/electronic/communication, HVAC)
- Familiarity with adjacent disciplines, ideally within the maritime or wider defence industries, or within the heavy engineering, oil & gas, infrastructure or building services industries
- Proven ability to successfully manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and deliver complex technical projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently prioritize tasks while meeting customer and business objectives
- Previous Engineering Manager/Design Manager experience is highly desirable

- NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain it
- Must meet all applicable Export Control requirements
