We currently have a unique opportunity as a Liaison Engineering Manager within our Hunter Class Frigate Program based in South Australia at the Osborne Naval Shipyard.

**Your new role**:
BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to deliver nine of the world's most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.
The Liaison Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the Hunter Class Liaison Engineering capability. The liaison engineering capability provides elbow support to the Operations part of the programme for all spatial integration and production output related queries. They act as the main interface point between Operations and Detailed Design for all tactical issues arising during the build phase of the programme.

**In terms of specific responsibilities, you will**:

- Degree level qualifications in an Engineering discipline and engineering experience enabling eligibility for admission to the Institution of Engineers, Australia, as a Chartered Professional
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within Maritime or allied industry including experience in a supervisory / management position in a technical domain
- Demonstrated experience in team supervision / management within a project
- Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levels across stakeholders'
- Ability to manage and influence internal and/or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
- The ability to balance priorities to deliver against customer (internal and external) and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
