We're an agency in the Department of Treasury and Finance portfolio, established under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act, and report to the Assistant Treasurer.We provide insurance and risk advice to government departments and agencies, with more than 4,600 clients, ranging from small community service organisations to public hospitals, schools, and core service providers. We also provide domestic building insurance to builders, giving Victorian homeowners peace of mind for building projects valued over $16,000.We help our clients prepare for, prevent, or reduce the impact of harm. Your roleYou lead the delivery and continuous improvement of a portfolio of harm prevention and recovery services to VMIA clients that directly contribute towards a more confident and resilient Victoria.You use your deep understanding of client centric service management processes to deliver creative, effective, and world-leading solutions that directly impact client outcomes.Your role reports to the Manager, Service Development & Operations, within the Risk, Insurance and Claims Solutions Division. What you do
- As Digital Product Manager, you support cross-functional teams to deliver a portfolio of risk services, including our Risk and Cyber Maturity Benchmark Materials.
- Your role is largely behind the scenes; however, you may support Risk Advisory, Client Capability and Harm Prevention Teams in their client facing engagements from time to time.
- For each service in your portfolio, you support the service owner and other stakeholders to set a vision for what the service will achieve, as well as annual objectives and targets.
- Based on service objectives, you work with Service Owners to develop service management plans detailing how each service will be delivered, resourced, and evaluated.
- You manage the systems and processes that make up the services in your portfolio in line with service management plans. This includes administering digital platforms and associated vendor relationships, providing user support, implementing communication plans, and coordinating cross-team activities to achieve objectives.
- In addition to managing systems and processes on a day-to-day basis, you create and implement service improvement plans based on client needs and business strategy by analysing and documenting services using methods such as service blueprints, process mapping, client personas, customer journey mapping and procedure writing.
- You use a range of research methods to understand client needs and contemporary service design techniques to improve services.
- You may also be involved in developing new services.
Who you work with
- You work with the Heads of VMIA teams and their team members to design, develop, and deliver services.
- You build constructive working relationships with partner organisations, suppliers, and clients.
- You engage with VMIA's clients to research service topics, test ideas and prototypes and plan services releases.
About you
- You have experience leading digital product and/or service development and delivery drawn from e.g. learning & development, product design and management, project or change management, marketing.
- You demonstrate strong project management skills and a willingness to embrace agile project management methodology.
- You have experience procuring and managing SaS platforms (software as a service), including working with suppliers to ensure service levels are met and improvement plans are implemented.
- You can pick up complex concepts around risk management, insurance and insurance practices, machinery of government etc.
