**About the role**

TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current **industry experience** and knowledge in **Optical Dispensing** to join our team of teachers on a **casual** basis based in **Strathfield**. Please note you may need to travel to other locations to attend practical workshops.

The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to **help, construct, guide** and **enhance** the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and **facilitates learning**, enabling students to **achieve their desired outcomes**.

**Your Day to Day**
- Teach students online, and face-to-face at practical workshops
- Student administration
- Maintain relationships with local industry and employers
- Stay current with industry practice

**About you**

To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated:

- Certificate IV or Diploma of Optical Dispensing or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
- Certificate IV TAE40116 or equivalent. (TAE Scholarship available)
- To be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
