About the role


TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current
industry experience and knowledge in
Optical Dispensing to join our team of teachers on a
casual basis based in
Strathfield.

Please note you may need to travel to other locations to attend practical workshops.


The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to
help, construct, guide and
enhance the educative process.

The teacher delivers educational programs and
facilitates learning, enabling students to
achieve their desired outcomes.

Your Day to Day

  • Teach students online, and facetoface at practical workshops
  • Student administration
  • Maintain relationships with local industry and employers
  • Stay current with industry practice

About you
To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma of Optical Dispensing or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of five years postqualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Certificate IV TAE40116 or equivalent. (TAE Scholarship available)
  • To be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
