**Your new company**
Our client is a Queensland government agency based in Brisbane that provides a multitude of products and services to deliver strategic project plans. Their focus areas include community support, housing, digital technology, and the arts, as well as support advice to other government agencies. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to add a Principal Program Officer to their branch to assist with their various and ongoing capital works projects.
**Your new role**
You will be responsible for monitoring the delivery of the construction and refurbishment of multiple capital works projects. This will include the planning and design of projects against relevant legislation through providing approvals, quotation documentation and overseeing the delivery of the work. You will understand projects from concept through to practical completion, in addition to having knowledge of construction contracts and tender and procurement.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade work. Therefore, you will ideally come from a background in client-side project or program management, with a relevant discipline in these fields. You will understand the legislation, policies, procedures and standards involved in the development of capital works projects and be able to provide sound advice using this knowledge. Given your role includes tender and documentation, you will also need a solid understanding of Microsoft programs in order to complete regular project reporting. This role will also require a valid Class-C drivers licence.
**What you'll get in return**
You will be offered an immediate start in a full-time contracted role with a government agency. You will be offered an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension, paying an A07 hourly rate + super. You will also have the potential opportunity to work from home.
