About the Portfolio
- The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.

The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: University Communications (UC), Enterprise Projects & Business Performance (EPBP), Global Marketing & Student Recruitment (GMSR), Human Resources (HR), Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Property Services Group (PSG) and Procurement.

The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

About the role

As a leader in the field, the Associate Director, Cyber Advisory, Strategy & Design (AD) will be delivering Information Security thought leadership to RMIT and continuing improvements through leadership, technical expertise, financial, business acumen and execution of operational processes. The AD will provide direction and guidance to technology projects and business as Usual global operations by drawing upon their exceptional advisory, strategic, and cyber design skill-set.

The position is consultative in nature and is responsible in defining and measuring strategic cyber initiatives, including the establishment of required policies, standards, and principals to guide the University in the adoption of cyber good practices.

Operating under broad direction and with a high degree of autonomy, the AD is responsible for the global establishment of cyber advisory controls, including identification and work-to-resolution of cyber threats that may impact on the availability and integrity of RMIT global services. Furthermore, this position has overall responsibility for the effective cyber design and operationalisation of business solutions across the enterprise.

This role reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer at RMIT.

To be successful in this position you will ideally have:
10+ years of proven experience and demonstrated success in technology- leadership
- with emphasis on cyber (advisory, strategy and governance).-
- Post graduate qualification or extensive relevant experience gained through working in a large corporate or consulting environment.-
- Consulting, problem solving/critical thinking and advisory skills-
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills-
- Strong business acumen, leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence all levels within an- organisation
- , most importantly at the senior executive level-
- Exceptional interpersonal and conflict negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients, in order to proactively identify and solve issues.-
- Proven leadership ability, including capacity to act as a persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the Leadership Management team and who is able to communicate technology risk related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.To Apply
