**About the role**:
The Family Violence Command Taskforce is an investigative work unit within Victoria Police that provides additional and specialist support to investigators from family violence investigation units, sexual assault and child abuse investigation teams and frontline police. The Taskforce can investigate family violence offending of a complex or significant nature when deemed appropriate and support ongoing investigations, including assistance to apprehend wanted high-risk family violence offenders. The Taskforce provides a state-wide response to requests for assistance for operational and intelligence support, including planned operations. An analyst at the Taskforce will report directly to a supervising Sergeant and work with a team of detectives to collect information, analyse open and closed sources, engage with stakeholders, and provide accurate and timely advice to police members regarding persons of interest in active investigations. Analysts also engage with stakeholders on matters of process and identify opportunities for improved information sharing practices.

**Your duties will include**:
- Conduct daily proactive checks of Victoria Police information and intelligence systems in line with unit priorities.
- Respond to state-wide requests from specialist areas for assistance.
- Use specialised intelligence gathering practices to locate outstanding fugitives and associates, including pattern of life checks using open-source information.
- Use intelligence analysis techniques to assess sensitive information and provide timely advice to investigators.
- Accurately maintain investigation and information systems, including records of correspondence.
- Foster positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to assist investigations.
- Proactively seek out new or improved processes within the unit to support unit direction and priorities.
- Proactively seek out new or improved processes with external stakeholders to optimise intelligence sharing practices when assisting investigators.
**As the successful applicant, you will have**:
- Demonstrated skills working effectively within a team, including clear written and verbal communication, and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good analytical skills, and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
- Ability to manage workloads and competing priorities and remain flexible to changing unit priorities.
- Managing and maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive information
- Commencement or completion of the Diploma of Police Intelligence Practice (DPIP) is beneficial, however successful applicants will be eligible to complete the DPIP in position.
- Previous experience with intelligence gathering systems is also beneficial.
**Requirements and relevant information**:
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
