Hobart Private Hospital is seeking experienced full time, part time and casual Registered Midwives and Nurses with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care to join our Maternity team.
Hobart Private Hospital is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds co-located with the Royal Hobart Hospital in the heart of the city. Hobart Private Hospital provides Emergency Services, Angiography and Cardiac Services, Maternity, Medical, Surgical, Day Surgery and Endoscopy.
**About you**
The Clinical Midwifery Educator is responsible for delivering clinical learning to Midwives and to act as a resource person to support all staff with a particular emphasis on Student Midwives, graduates and new staff. This position is a permanent part time 24hrs per fortnight.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Participation in the planning process for the education and training strategy for the department
- Provide clinical teaching activities that demonstrate the principles of adult learning and reflective practice
- Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs to staff that lead to achievement of nursing competency in relevant clinical activities
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of Student Midwives, Graduate Midwives and new staff within the clinical setting
- Facilitates and supports assessment of clinical competence within the framework of the ANMC Competency Standards
**What you bring**
- AHPRA Registration as a Midwife
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in all areas of Midwifery including antenatal, post-natal and birth suite
- Previous experience in an education/training role desirable but not essential
- Ability to develop and deliver clinical education and training
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- A desire to join a committed team
- A commitment to Quality Patient Care
- Compliance with ACQSHC National Standard
