Service Profile

Homelessness Melbourne Metro is committed to providing person centred care, trauma informed practice and a strengths-based approach to improve the health, wellbeing and housing outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.

We are committed to working with the most disadvantaged, marginalised and complex members of our community to support them in recovering from their experience of trauma and homelessness.

About the role

The Homelessness Community Outreach Program Manager is part of a collaborative case management team, working in partnership to provide support to individuals experiencing primary homelessness and rough sleeping across inner Melbourne and Northern & Western Metropolitan areas.

The successful applicant will work in collaboration with the Homelessness Residential Case Management Program Manager in establishing a culture of service delivery that is Person Centred, Strengths Based and Trauma Informed.

Offering a monthly rostered day off, this is a permanent full-time position located in West Melbourne/Kensington, close to public transport and parking. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 7.

This role is responsible for the operational management of the following Community Outreach Services:

- Green Light Supportive Housing
- Homeless to Home
- Homelessness Rough Sleepers Services
- Support in Public Housing

You will be part of a Regional leadership team that works closely with:

- Residential Community Support Services
- Residential Case Management Services
- Crisis Support Services
- Business Administration

About you
- Ability to coach, supervise and manage change
- Resilience, flexibility and adaptability with ability to meet deadlines
- Advanced communication, written & organisational skills
- Ability to ensure service delivery outcomes meet the required target
- Strong AOD practitioner experience
- Relevant tertiary degree or above qualifications
- Creative outcome focused attitude
- Ability to manage crisis situations and initiative to solve service delivery challenges
- Ensure the mission and values of The Salvation Army are reflected throughout the service
- Have a current and valid VIC Drivers Licence

Melbourne Metro Homelessness Service Programs

Homelessness Melbourne Metro region provides a comprehensive range of Salvation Army residential & community services across the inner city of Melbourne with sites in St Kilda, Footscray, North Melbourne, West Melbourne and Kensington.

Community programs include the Crisis Contact Centre, Community Outreach Services for single adults, support for older people in public housing, rough sleeper & street sleeping initiatives, community participation and AOD support.

Residential services operate from Foley House in Footscray, the Open Door in North Melbourne and Flagstaff in West Melbourne.

Homelessness Melbourne Metro is supported by co-located services including the TSA Chaplaincy program, Bolton Clarke primary health service and NDIS support coordination.
