Maxima's Recruitment Services are seeking a Principal Internal Auditor for a position with their Local Government client.

This is a temporary assignment working full-time hours, commencing the start of February through to 31st July 2024.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, this position will support the delivery of Internal Audit objectives by providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Performing complex financial, operational and IT audits
- Completion of advisory and special projects as required
- Performing data analysis, reporting and providing insights to stakeholders
- Undertaking timely follow up on audit actions to ensure that they have been completed
- Assisting with identifying and developing audit techniques
- Mentoring and supporting staff as required.

**About You**
- Substantial knowledge and experience in conducting complex audits, reviews and providing value adding advice in respect to governance, internal controls and risk management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs and the ability to develop proficiency with Council’s corporate systems, accounting and auditing software
- Significant experience with data analytics and BI reporting will be highly regarded
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and consultation skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
