**About the role**

Mater currently requires an experienced **Allied Health Assistant** to join our Mater at Home team located in the Greater Brisbane region, on a **part time basis** for a maximum term 12-month contract, with the view to full time basis in the coming months.

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will deliver clinical and non-clinical services in client’s home or community centres across a variety of discipline areas, with the focus of this position involving clinical duties and supporting the multi-disciplinary team. You will be supplied with a company laptop, mobile phone and access to a fleet vehicle. There may be opportunity to work from home.

**Salary range: $29.79 - $31.12 (Operational Officer Level 3) per hour plus Superannuation + Salary Packaging access up to $15,900**

**What you’ll be doing**

The purpose of the role is to deliver competent and professional assistance to clients, families, clinicians and care providers. Key tasks will include:

- Booking appointments and assisting with initial Home Risk Assessments
- Assisting with completing an individual or group program with clients in their home or at a community-based centre
- Liaising with the treating therapist to ensure an understanding of program requirements and feeding back outcomes of visits
- Review of equipment prescribed to the client, ensuring it is working correctly and the client can use it safely
- Assistance in delivery of services across the multidisciplinary allied health team. This will mainly focus on Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology however may include Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Pathology and Social Work.

**About you**

Essential
- A certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Possession of a valid open driver’s licence
- Current, or ability to obtain, NDIS Worker Screening Check (yellow card)

Desirable
- Demonstrated experience working within a community, aged care and/or disability environment
- Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clients, carers and service providers and respond to competing demands
- Ability to actively participate in a team
- Highly competent organisation and time management skills
