At UQ Sport, it’s our vision to be Australia’s number one sporting university and our mission to deliver exceptional sporting opportunities for The University of Queensland (UQ) Community. We’re Queensland’s largest multi-sport facility and have Athletics, Aquatic, Tennis and Fitness Centres, as well as grass and synthetics playing fields, indoor and outdoor multi-sport courts, function spaces and retail outlets. Our memberships base spans over 4,000 customers, with a further 7,000 people actively involved across UQ’s 35+ sporting clubs.

**ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY**:
Our Aquatic Centre is expanding its crew of lifeguards. We’re looking for an energetic and safety conscious lifeguard for various shifts **8 or more hours per week as required** that cover from opening at **4am through to centre close at 9pm**, to supervise our customers and ensure their safety at all times whilst using our Aquatic Centre.

**IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL**:

- Supervise all users of the Aquatic Centre ensuring high standards for safety and presentation
- Opening/closing and preparing the venue for use
- Be responsible for effectively and promptly responding to emergency situations
- Conduct rostered pool and water quality tests to ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and/or regulations

**TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE**:

- High work ethic, commitment to professional presentation and the ability to maintain an appropriate level of fitness throughout employment.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard is highly regarded
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Blue Card
- First Aid & CPR Certificates
- Advanced Resuscitation qualification (desired)
