Role Context:

- The Assistant Principal - Staff Development and Coaching reports directly to the Assistant Principal - College Operation, Staff Development and Resourcing and is responsible for implementation of priorities outlined in the School Strategic Plan and the Annual Implementation Plan.

The Assistant Principal - Staff Development and Coaching will be responsible and accountable to the College Executive Team. This role sits within the College leadership structure and in conjunction with the function of the College Executive Team.

The position of Assistant Principal - Staff Development and Coaching is a key position implementing the College Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan goals in relation to:

- Lead the implementation of High Impact Strategies (including High Impact Teaching Strategies, High Impact Wellbeing Strategies and High Impact Engagement Strategies) to enhance consistent school wide strategies producing improved student learning outcomes.
- Lead and support a team of Learning Specialists to equip teachers with instructional strategies to enhance student outcomes in response to current data.
- Lead and monitor the college coaching program
- Oversee the the college mentoring and graduate programs
- Assist and support new staff inductions
- Creating and maintaining an environment in which teachers relate positively to students by providing quality feedback to teachers to assist their teaching of students.
- Develop and support processes of professional development and collegial interaction among staff and students including Peer Observations, Demonstration Lessons and Coaching.
- Lead a PLC team
- Delivering management and engagement practices which provide clear communication and positive relationships across the college with students, teachers and their parents or guardians
- Research and source Professional Opportunities for staff
