North Sydney, Australia MLC Life Insurance Full time

Are you committed to bringing your best to life every day?

At MLC Life Insurance, we’re proud of our history of protecting Australians for over 135 years. We provide flexible, affordable, and innovative insurance products to almost 1 million Australians. We’re Australian-led and managed, and part of a global network through our partnership with one of the world’s leading life insurers, Nippon Life Insurance Group.

We’re driven by a powerful purpose, providing our customers and their families with a Promise for Life to be there when they need us most - and that’s a great purpose to bring us together at work every day.

We work hard to deliver a total customer experience that keeps our customers and partners at the forefront of all our decisions. We’re a values-driven business that strives for high performance and growth as we look towards the future.

**The Role**

Reporting into the General Counsel and General Manager for Regulatory Affairs, the Manager role is responsible for supporting and managing the company's engagement with regulators to ensure cohesion in regulatory narrative and to build and sustain MLCL's reputation with regulators as a reliable and high integrity participant in the Australian financial services industry.

You will play a broad role with end-to-end responsibilities in the regulatory affairs space. From supporting and managing a variety of regulatory engagements and responses to requests, including in relation to both prudential and conduct-related matters, to providing insight and advice on regulatory risk management to stakeholders to support regulatory compliance and sustainable strategic advantage.

You will also ensure that regulator requests and actions arising from regulatory engagements are responded to in an appropriate and timely manner.

**About you**

This role would suit an experienced lawyer or regulatory professional looking to step away from a more traditional legal role and use their strong interpersonal and communications skills to focus on constructive engagements and building relationships.

You will have strong financial services regulatory experience including exposure to AFCA, ASIC, APRA or other regulators within the financial services space.

With a solid understanding of financial services and the associated legal framework, you will also have the ability to drive substantive discussions and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Your balanced set of skills includes critical and analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, positive interpersonal and influencing skills, and a proven ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.

**Bringing our best to life - why join us?**
- We do work that makes a genuine difference to our customers, partners and community.
- We have a supportive, inclusive and flexible team culture, including hybrid working.
- We support your growth and development, and careers across our business units and teams that are as unique as our people.
