The Traditional Owner Partnerships and Heritage Officer is a member of the Forest and Fire Management Planning Unit and will support the implementation of key departmental priorities for Aboriginal and historic heritage management, and Traditional Owner partnerships within the context of forest and fire planning. The role will also support the delivery of key reform actions to enable greater Aboriginal self-determination in land management planning and heritage management.

**This is designated position under s.12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.**

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- Demonstrable interest and/or experience working with Traditional Owners, First Nation people and groups, and understanding of the opportunities, challenges, issues, policy, and legislation that affects the lives of First Nation people.
- Knowledge of government policy and institutional arrangements in relation to public land, environment, and heritage protection and cultural or natural resource management is desirable.
- Tertiary qualification(s) in social sciences, cultural or natural resource management or public policy, or equivalent applied experience is desirable.
- Experience in using GPS and other map-based products.

**This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.**
