Reporting to the Crown Resorts Audit & Finance Committee, the primary purpose of this role is to lead the independent third line assurance function and provide assurance and advice to the boards and the executive teams over the quality of the control framework that protects the organisation against its key risk exposures.
It will also include the implementation of Crown’s Internal Audit Strategy, the management and reporting of internal audit activities to the relevant Boards and executive management, and the identification of critical risk exposures and control and / or efficiency improvements, ensuring critical risk exposures are adequately managed, and Crown’s assets and resources appropriately utilised.
The Group General Manager - Internal Audit also plays a significant role in helping to ensure the ongoing success of Crown’s remediation and transformation program, including working with Crown’s monitors and regulators as necessary.
**The Role**:
- Lead a team of 20 audit professionals (located in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth)
- Report to the Crown Resorts Audit & Finance Committee and indirectly to the equivalent committees for the three Australian Resorts (Crown Sydney, Crown Melbourne and Crown Perth)
- Oversee the ongoing success of the Co-Source relationships, including managing the internal audit activity at Crown’s international interests
- Continue the ongoing uplift and maturation of the Crown Internal Audit Department
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Implement Crown’s Internal Audit Strategy
- Lead the delivery of the Internal Audit Remediation Plans
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of the annual Internal Audit Plan
- Ensure internal audit activity provides sound and strategic input on enhancing business processes and overall risk mitigation
- Ensure the design and purpose of the internal audit process is effective and meeting the strategic intent of the function
- Report internal audit activity to Crown’s boards and executive management
- Engage with executive and department management on all related internal audit matters
- Own and manage the relationships with the state-based monitors and regulators
- Ensure the timely and ongoing implementation and embedment of the remediation plans
**Key Qualifications and Experience**:
- Relevant degree qualified
- Completion of CA, CPA, IIA or equivalent qualification
- Prior experience as a Chief Audit Executive at a large/complex company or equivalent role from a top tier Chartered Accounting firm essential
- Minimum 18+ years post graduate experience
- Strong executive and board level presence and report writing
- Well-developed critical and strategic thinking capability
- Must have experience working with businesses in a highly regulated environment, including exposure to AML/CTF and fraud management frameworks
- Experience or understanding of gaming, entertainment, retail and / or hotel operations highly desired but not essential
