Dental Assistant

Position Overview: As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of a dental practice. This dual role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, requiring a balance of clinical expertise and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
**Chairside Assistance**:Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, providing suction, and ensuring patient comfort.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting surfaces.

**Patient Care**:Escort patients to treatment rooms and ensure their comfort.
Take and record patient medical histories and vital signs.

Administrative Duties:
**Reception and Scheduling: Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk.**
**Schedule and confirm appointments, and maintain the appointment calendar.**
**Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients.**

**Patient Records**:Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Input and update patient information in the practice management software D4 Web.

**Billing and Insurance**:Process patient payments and coordinate with insurance providers.
Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.

**Office Maintenance**:Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area and other common areas.
Manage and order office and clinical supplies as needed.

**Communication**:Liaise between patients, dental professionals, and other staff members.
Relay important information and instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.

Qualifications:
**Education**:High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a dental assistant training program is preferred.

CPR certification may be required.

**Skills**:Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

**Experience**:Previous experience in a dental office is desirable but not mandatory.

Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week
