An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Advanced** Trainee in **Addiction **Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry** **to join our **Mental Health Division** with an** immediate start and for the 2024 clinical year.**

**Details of position/position requirements**

The Advanced Addiction registrar is a clinical role providing addiction expertise to support consumers with **alcohol** and other drug related difficulties within Austin Health **and in the broader community**. The role is split **between** outpatient clinics, **providing pharmacotherapy experience**, and **hospital-based** consultation-liaison services, **for a broad addiction training experience. Advanced psychiatry trainees will also be expected to participate in after hours on-call work.**

**This** VMST-funded position is suitable for **an advanced trainee of** either the **RACP Addiction Medicine Program or RANZCP Addiction Psychiatry Certificate, with supervision and training support available for both programs**.

To be successful in this role you must:

- Be a registered Medical Practitioner with Australian Registration (AHPRA registration)
- Have appropriate training and experience
- Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care
- Demonstrate a capability and interest in research
