**Rehabilitation Registrar**

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic medical practitioners to join our team as a **Rehabilitation Registrar** at **Austin Hospital** and the **Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre **for the 2024 Clinical Year (commencing 5 February 2024).

**Details of Department**

Royal Talbot has 62-67 beds across 3 wards.

**Details of positions available and position requirements**

We have 6 registrar posts as per the position descriptions;
- 2 in spinal rehab
- 1 in Amputee, Orthopaedic & General Rehabilitation
- 1 in ABI, Neurological & General Rehabilitation
- 1 unaccredited leave cover position for 12 weeks per 6 months.

**To be successful in this role you must**:

- Demonstrate sound medical/surgical knowledge, an understanding of the biopsychosocial approach to patient management, excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- The capacity to supervise and teach junior staff and students.
- Demonstrate rapport with patients and their carers, and developing leadership skills.
