**Your new role**
In the role of a AO5 Project Engagement Advisor, you will contribute to the efficient delivery of information regarding projects by providing strategic communication services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs, and stakeholder relationship management.
Accountabilities include:
- Coordinate community engagement for the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade (B2N) project and Beerburrum to Landsborough Recreation Trail
- Develop strategies for stakeholder and issues management.
- Assist in providing communication advice and support to the Project Manager, Project Director, Regional Director and Senior Project Engagement Advisor and other regional staff in the areas of media and issues management, risk assessment, community engagement and communication strategies using appropriate communication tools.
- Work with the main works Contractor's communications resources to ensure timely and accurate planning, development and approval of key communication materials and activities such as newsletters, flyers, web enquiries, displays, road commissioning's, launches, media opportunities and other events as required.
- Prepare communication materials, including reports, media releases, ministerial briefings and speech notes, while adhering to all departmental and public governance framework requirements.
- Develop and maintain ongoing key strategic relationships with networks with other government agencies, project partners, contractors, community and interest groups and internal and external clients.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Whilst qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing would be highly desirable. Preferably International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) in Engagement.
- Understanding of Infrastructure Sustainability Council Framework and how it applies to Infrastructure projects.
- Experience in a Strategic Communication or Community Engagement role in an environment dealing with major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport or civil engineering sector, will be highly regarded.
