Our Blue Chip client manages a portfolio of properties with a focus on premium grain production using cutting edge technology and sustainable production practices. They are seeking a commercially minded General Manager - Supply Chain to minimize supply chain risks across the business whilst maximizing value of grain products in the marketplace. Location Flexible

You will lead the expansion and strengthening of supplier relations to ensure inputs are available where and when needed and sourced at the best value for the company.
Exceed customer requirements and through exceptional planning position products to maximise profits from within markets.

This role reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for:

- The companies supply chain strategy and engagement of key stakeholders and supply chain partners.
- The effective purchase and storage of inputs across the business whilst also managing the storage and logistics of products to customers.
- Adoption of new technologies to ensure efficiencies while executing supply chain strategies.
- In conjunction with marketing consultants manage the hedging, forward contracting, delivery and sale of grain products.
- You will work closely with the Management team on the execution and development of the cropping system.
- Look for opportunities in emerging markets which align with company values.

**Essential Knowledge and skills**:

- Minimum 5 years experience successfully deploying a supply chain strategy for a production (preferably agricultural) business.
- Thorough understanding of planning principles as applied to ag input/outputs and logistics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AgWorld & Zahara Purchase Order System.
